A: You are eligible for Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits if you served at least 90 days on active duty after September 10, 2001 as a member of the Armed Forces. You also qualify if you served a minimum of 30 consecutive days of active duty service after September 10, 2001 and were discharged due to a service-connected disability.
A: This benefit may also apply to reserves (National Guard and Reserve) who were called to serve active duty under certain sections of title 10. Additionally, as of August 1, 2011, Reserves who served active duty service under select sections of title 32 U.S.C or section 502(f) may also be eligible.
A: Certain periods of active duty service may not qualify for Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. For example, select reserve service that was performed to create eligibility for REAP (chapter 1607), MGIB (MGIB-SR Chapter 1606) or Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB chapter 30) benefits. Additionally, active duty service under these categories does not qualify:
A: Benefit payments are based on the length of approved active duty service. If you are an active duty Reserve member (select), National Guard or veteran who completed a minimum of 90 consecutive active duty days after September 10, 2001, the following benefit payment table applies to you:
