The life of a military spouse includes living on a flexible schedule, learning to quickly and efficiently adapt to change, and providing for your family while your partner is on duty. Having a career means more than simply getting a job at your partner's duty station. A flexible, stable career is possible for military spouses - one with career potential nationwide. With the convenience and flexibility of distance education, you can get the career training you need on your own time, at your own pace - and with military spouse benefits, your education costs can be fully covered.

Learn more about the education, benefits and military-friendly careers available to military spouses nationwide.

Military Spouse Education

We understand that your spouse's deployments or frequent moves may prevent you from enrolling in a traditional school where you have to travel to class and spend time away from home. The good news is that online schools, such as Allied Schools, can provide flexible and convenient military spouse education so you can focus on your family while getting the educational foundation you need.

Online military classes are the same classes that you'll find at an on-site school. You just log onto the classes from your home computer. There are no commutes or wasted class time. The classes are available when you are, anytime day or night. You set the pace and complete assignments when it works best for you.

Attention Active-Duty Military Spouses

MyCAA Resumes October 25, 2010!

Great news! Allied is pleased to inform you that The Department of Defense will resume the MyCAA program on October 25, 2010.

With a focus on the original intent of the program - helping spouses of service members to achieve portable careers - the Defense Department’s financial assistance program will:

  • Be available to spouses of active duty service members in pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2, and O1-O2
  • Offer a maximum financial benefit of $4,000 with a fiscal year cap of $2,000.  Waivers will be available for spouses pursuing licensure or certification up to the total maximum assistance of $4,000
  • Require military spouses to finish their program of study within three years from the start date of the first course
  • Be limited to associate degrees, certification and licensures
  • No longer be available to spouses when the service member is in an alert or demobilization period

If you currently have an active MyCAA account, all approved financial assistance documents will be honored.  To keep your education on track, spouses with open accounts should note these important dates:

  • August 21, 2010: No career plans will be accepted after this date
  • September 1, 2010: Starting on this date, spouses may request financial assistance for classes that have a start date up to January 15, 2011
  • October 21, 2010: Deadline to request financial aid

Allied is your military friendly school and we proudly support the educational goals of active duty service members and spouses.  Whether you need assistance maximizing your open MyCAA account or simply want a head start on mapping out your career path before October 25, Allied is here to help you succeed.

Call 888-501-58221 today to speak with a helpful student services representative.

Special Note: The MyCAA program will be closed from Friday, October 22 to Monday, October 25, 2010, to ensure the infrastructure is in place to implement the new program. Additional program details will be posted to www.militaryonesource.com as they become available.

There are specific benefits available to military spouses - MyCAA and military spouse scholarships - meaning that you have the opportunity to enroll in a career training program at no charge to you. With no out-of-pocket costs, there's nothing standing in the way of preparing for a new career and contributing to the family income.

Allied's 100% online education allows military spouses to train for a new career while remaining at home to maintain daily commitments to their children, friends and community. Call (888) 501-5221 today to learn how Allied's training may lead to jobs for military spouses plus how to qualify for government funding or a military spouse scholarship.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program (MyCAA)

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account Program (MyCAA) is a Department of Defense (DoD) program that provides financial assistance to spouses of active duty military members and spouses of activated Guard and Reserve service members (deployed for a year or more) for certification, licensure, education or training in careers in high-growth, high-demand occupations.

Military Spouse Scholarships

Military spouses who are not eligible for MyCAA funding may have military spouse scholarships available to them. Some schools offer in-house military spouse scholarship programs, which are designed to give military spouses and dependents the opportunity to get the career training they need without the worry of how to pay for their education. Your tuition may be waived when your active-duty spouse enrolls in a course or you may receive a monetary discount - do your research to locate a school that meets your needs.
