How to Enroll in MyCAA

Find out about MyCAA Account Enrollment Process

Attention Military Spouses - did you know that you can pursue your education at no cost with a MyCAA account?  That's right, you can enroll in a vocational school, earn an industry certification/license or even pursue your associate degree online.  Your education can lead to a portable career that will help reinforce a more secure future for your entire family.

Are you ready to learn more? First things first – prior to enrolling, review the requirements below to ensure you are eligible to open a MyCAA account.

  • Spouses of active duty service members that fall into the following pay categories:  E-1-E-5, W-1-W-2 and O1-O2
  • Spouses of activated Guard and Reserve within the ranks mentioned above. Spouses in this category must be able to start and complete their courses while their sponsor is on Title 10 orders.
  • Please note: MyCAA does not include Coast Guard spouses. If you are a Coast Guard spouse, please call (888) 501-5221 for additional options.

If you fall within the above categories, you could be eligible for a MyCAA account. This means that you could receive up to $4,000 in financial assistance from the Department of Defense (DoD) to use towards your education.  In order to enroll in the MyCAA program, here is a basic overview of what you will need to do:

Get Started
Today

  • Open a MyCAA account at https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa
  • Complete and submit a spouse profile
  • MyCAA will verify spouse DEERS benefit eligibility
  • Once you are approved as eligible for a MyCAA account, you will create a Career and Training Plan that will outline your training goals. You will also submit your request for financial assistance. Both your plan and FA request will be made within 30 days of your course start date.
  • Next, make sure you apply to the school and enroll in all of the appropriate courses approved in your MyCAA Career and Training Plan.

As you progress through the MyCAA enrollment process, one of the most important steps will be creating your Career and Training Plan.  You will need to consider important questions such as:

  • What industry and/or career field do I want to pursue?
  • Faced with unknown PCS moves, should I enroll in an online education program?
  • How do I select the right school?

These are all important questions that deserve careful consideration.  So as part of the MyCAA enrollment process, taking some time to research your options is a very smart move.   For example, begin your research online with helpful Web sites like www.careeronestop.org, which reveals portable career fields and identifies MyCAA friendly schools that offer corresponding programs.
