Allied’s Advanced Medical Career Training Program provides you with the training to become a skilled medical billing and coding specialist. Whether you join a medical office team or work on your own, your military education will provide you with knowledge of proper billing procedures, coding practices and medical terminology will prepare you for a long-term career in a growing field. Prepare for your post-military career in as little as 18 weeks. Learn from anywhere in the world. The program covers five courses: Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Advanced Medical Terminology, Professional Career Development , and Medical Billing Office Module. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be awarded one certificate. Medical Billing
Medical Billing provides you with the ability to oversee the billing procedures of a medical office. Learn how to accurately complete claim forms and bill insurance companies with effective hands-on training. Your administrative background and billing knowledge will make you an asset to any medical office. Apply your skills to a doctor’s office, hospital, clinic or other medical setting. You can use your billing and administrative skills to further your career.
Medical Coding
Medical Coding teaches you how to determine the correct coding for specific medical diagnoses and procedures. Learn how to assign numeric codes and streamline the coding process with your knowledge of the industry-standard ICD-9-CM, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and HCPCS code books. Real-life scenarios, medical 
charts, and physician documentation will give you the hands-on training you need.
Advanced Medical Terminology
Advanced Medical Terminology (medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology) is the perfect place to start, giving you a solid foundation of essential medical terms and knowledge. It provides you with a well-rounded background of the terms and concepts you’ll encounter everyday in the medical field. Your familiarity with this information will give you the skills to succeed on the job.
Professional Career Development
This course provides step by step instruction on how to prepare for the interviewing and job search process. Lesson assignments on conducting a job search, writing a resume and preparing for a job interview are included. You will also learn about the importance of job tracking, networking as well as how to negotiate job offers. Also included in this course is an instructional video which prepares you for the job interview process. It includes hands on practice on the best ways to answer tough job interview questions.
